Maintenance Updates

Starting Feb 26, 2025, Bybit will discontinue issuing new USDC-settled Options and Linear Expiry Futures (hereafter referred to as "Futures") contracts. All new Options and Futures contracts will be settled in USDT to enhance your trading experience and improve platform liquidity. 

- Feb 11, 2025, 8AM UTC: Launch of SOLUSDT Futures contracts expiring on Apr 4 and Apr 11.

- Feb 12, 2025, 8AM UTC: Launch of SOLUSDT Options contracts expiring on Apr 4 and Apr 11.

- Feb 18, 2025, 8AM UTC: Launch of BTC and ETHUSDT Futures contracts expiring on Apr 4 and Apr 11.

- Feb 19, 2025, 8AM UTC: Launch of BTC and ETHUSDT Options contracts expiring on Apr 4 and Apr 11.

- These contracts will function identically to Mainnet contracts, including trading, PnL settlement, delivery, exercise, and expiration cancellation.

- The pre-issued USDT Futures and Options contracts will be available on both the app & website, and OpenAPI, allowing users to familiarize themselves with the new settlement currency in advance.

- Jan 20, 2025 – Feb 25, 2025: During this period, USDC-settled Options and Futures contracts will continue to be issued and traded as usual.

- Feb 26, 2025 (including contracts issued on this day): From this date onward, all newly issued Options and Futures contracts will be settled in USDT.

- Jan 7, 2025, 8AM UTC: Special issuance of three (3) BTC, three (3) ETH, and three (3) SOLUSDT Futures contracts and two (2) SOL-Options contracts each for testing purposes.

- Jan 15, 2025 (including contracts issued on this day): From this date, all newly issued Options and Futures contracts on the Testnet will be settled in USDT.

1. Existing USDC-Settled Options and Futures Contracts Remain Unchanged:

- All already issued USDC-settled Options and Futures contracts will continue to operate as usual, ensuring the security of your trades and the protection of your interests.

- Starting Feb 26, 2025, only USDT-settled Options and Futures contracts will be issued. USDC-settled contracts will no longer be available for new issuances.

- To avoid liquidity fragmentation, unless under special circumstances, if a USDC-settled Options or Futures contract has already been issued for a specific expiration date, a corresponding USDT-settled contract will not be issued for the same expiration date.

The trading rules, fundamental parameters, fees, and margin requirements for USDT-settled Options and Futures contracts are largely similar to those for USDC-settled contracts. In Unified Trading Account (UTA), PnL hedging between USDT and USDC contracts is supported. Similarly, in Portfolio Margin mode, margin hedging between USDT and USDC contracts is also supported.

Example Scenario: Assume a USDC-settled Options and Futures contract for Mar 28, 2025, is already available and being traded:

- No USDT-settled Options and Futures contracts will be issued for the Mar 28, 2025, expiration date.

- The existing USDC-settled Options and Futures contracts for Mar 28, 2025, will continue to trade normally until they expire, are exercised, or are canceled.
