What is the Sui Network?

Sui is a permissionless Layer-1 blockchain built on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mechanism, designed to help creators and developers to build experiences in Web3 by eliminating intermediaries and enabling seamless integration across applications.

Sui is created by Mysten Labs, a Web3 organization whose five founders are former senior executives and lead architects for Meta's discontinued digital wallet program called Novi.

SUI is the native token of the Sui Network, with a total supply of 10 billion tokens, and can be used for the following:

Staking on the Sui platform
Paying for transaction gas fees
Providing its holders with the right to participate in on-chain voting
